Dangers of New Mom Trend: Babyccinos

March 5, 2012 By Chelsea

Could just be me, but I often feel I am doing all I can to get my kids to calm down! So when a Breezy Mama Bestie Kathy sent me an article about a new trend of moms serving their kids coffee – a.k.a. “Babyccinos” – I was slightly shocked. And after discussing it with Breezy Go-to pediatrician, Dr. Gillin, turns out I was floored for good reason. Breezy Mama got the scoop on the dangers of giving caffeine to kids (that includes decaf coffee and sodas!), how too much sugar can be toxic and more.

Are there any dangers for giving a child caffeine?

Yes. Caffeine can cause a variety of negative effects. The most common are [Read more…] about Dangers of New Mom Trend: Babyccinos

3 Ways You Can Become Sterile

January 31, 2011 By Chelsea

Hmmm… I wonder if it’s having 3 kids and two newborns that had me thinking about this topic. All kidding aside, my hubby has had a vasectomy AND I have had my tubes tied (you can never be too sure… kidding… kind of…), but I was curious about other options as well. Breezy Mama turned to a favorite Go-To expert, Dr. Rothbart (who was famously flown to Namibia to deliver Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh) to get the pros and cons of the different procedures when you are absolutely, 100% finished having children (ahem).

1. Tubes Tied

a. I recently had my tubes tied, but was told to use birth control for the first 3 months because I could STILL get pregnant. How is this possible?

It is really [Read more…] about 3 Ways You Can Become Sterile

How to Sell Your Screenplay

January 7, 2010 By Chelsea

P4074400Ever thought about writing YOUR screenplay? Entertainment lawyer Lisa Callif — who’s core practice is representing independent filmmakers in all aspects of movie-making including financing, production and distribution, and live theater – answered Breezy Mama’s questions on the steps to making movie magic and the money you can expect to make.

Once I write my amazing must-see movie (ahem), what are the first steps to take in order to see it come to fruition?

Well, if you talk to ten different lawyers, they’ll give you ten different answers to this. My advice is to [Read more…] about How to Sell Your Screenplay

The Latest on Birth Control

July 13, 2009 By Chelsea

31eEkcXvNkL._SL500_AA280_ From why the IUD is back and more popular than ever to questions on whether it’s really safe for a woman to miss her period (oh, and WHEN IS THE MAN PILL coming out) and so much more, Breezy Mama’s favorite go-to OB Dr. Rothbart answered our questions.

I have heard of many OBs recommending IUDs now. Why is this? What’s changed from our mother’s generation when there were lots of problems?

We have come a long way from our mother’s generation of IUDs. IUDs got a bad rap in the 70’s and 80’s for causing [Read more…] about The Latest on Birth Control

First the tsunami of round the clock feedings, sleepless nights and endless diaper changes and then somewhere through the newborn storm comes the realization that not everything on your body went back into pre-pregnancy position. In fact for some moms, a little surgical restoration may be required. Dr. Rothbart – who was famously flown to Namibia to deliver Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s baby Shiloh in 2006 – gave Breezy the scoop on vaginal repair.

Do all OBs perform Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Not all OBs perform vaginal rejuvenation. Some have special training to do so, and some, while qualified, simply choose not to for various reasons.
