It was barely 5:30pm as I stood in my driveway with my arms stretched forward, holding my very first tiny baby saying, “HERE!” to my husband who had just pulled up from work. Though he would have preferred an indoor greeting that didn’t engage him in immediate parenthood before even unbuckling his seat belt, I was exhausted, grumpy as a result and had been stuck indoors all day without anything to do during the “retirement” of maternity leave.
