a tribe called quest
Sometimes a girl needs her hip hop. Only problem, when that girl is a mom, most of today’s hip hop contains lyrics that you can’t play around kids. Not so with Jurassic 5. Two best songs on this CD, Jurassic 5 EP, are Lesson 6: The Lecture which is filled with dope (how else can you describe them?) beats and samples and Concrete Schoolyard which demonstrates the band’s smooth lyrics and catchy beats. Reminiscent of old school hip hop, this CD will have you and your child dancing around in no time. If you like A Tribe Called Quest or Digable Planets, then this is the band for you.
Breezy Tip: There is the occasional swear word, but it flows so smoothly that it wasn’t until I was writing this that I noticed. Pinky swear. (No pun intended.)
Breezy Tip 2: Don’t want the whole album? Click here to download Concrete Schoolyard from iTunes.
