Secret Beauty Products We Can’t Live Without!

New York Editor Lan gives us the products moms recommend!

Between the sleepless nights and the strain to juggle everything thrown at us moms, we cherish the moments of me-time that we’re able to carve out. For some, it’s a weekly exercise class. For others, it’s that monthly girl’s night out. For me, it’s taking the time to pamper my skin on a daily basis.

Turns out I am not alone. Nearly 60% of people aged 18-34 would rather give up Instagram or listen to Donald Trump speeches on replay than go one year without their favorite beauty product, according to a recent survey of 1,0001 women and men by Curology, the skincare company that offers personalized acne treatment products delivered right to your door. More than 28 percent of people ages 18-34 said they spend more time on their daily skincare routine than they do reading the news.

We asked some of our moms what beauty product they would not be able to give up and here are some of their recommendations:

Our very own Chelsea Gladden says she can’t live without GoodPharma Night Cream with Estrogen. Its mix of Estriol, Tretinoin, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Coenzyme Q-10, DMAE, and Glycolic Acid keeps her skin. flawless.

For the past three years, Abbie has been a fan of the masks and Dorian Gray’s Anti-Aging Serum by Sabbatical Beauty, a brand started by former humanities professor Adeline Koh who suffered from red, dry and acne-proned skin. The Korean-inspired beauty company may be only two years old but the small batches of products high in natural ingredients and an ardent FB community has built up a cult following.

After years of trying brands like Lancome, Le Mer and Estee Lauder, Xiaoning says she can’t do without CeraVe’s Hydrating Face Cleanser and PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. The mom of two and a personal trainer finds the products mild and soothing, perfect for her skin.

BreezyMama’s Alex Ota is currently on an Alba kick but also touts the wonders of castor oil. Rub a little castor oil on the eyelashes and it has the same effect as the Rodan and Fields Lash Boost for less, she says. Castor oil is also known to promote healthy hair, skin and nail production.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is a favorite of a Manhattan mom of three. “It goes on clear so no white ghost shadow,” explains Jairo. “It’s so light that I use it underneath my makeup every day. And it works so well that I even use it on my girls when I am in a rush and don’t have time to rub in the white sunblock lotion.”

A mom of three swears by Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint. She likes it because it is unscented and doesn’t irritate her sensitive skin. It can also double as a cover up for days when she wants to wear less. “It fills in wrinkles slightly and doesn’t cake or show the passage of time as the day wears on. You can put powder or other products over it,” she explains. An added bonus: it contains 15 SPF sunscreen.

While I love to test out new face and eye creams, I tend to stick to one body moisturizer. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion is thick enough to tackle my flaky skin while not feeling greasy and has a slight scent that doesn’t tickle my nose. I even slather it on my kids after every bath and shower.
