WIN!!! NEW book If You Give a Mouse a Brownie PLUS $50 Visa Gift Card!

If you have children, you’ve most likely have read at least one of the books from the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie series. You know, the classic (it was first released 30 years ago!) book where if you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to ask for a glass of milk to go with it which then leads to all kinds of “mischief” that the mouse and the boy get into. I was given a few of the books when I was pregnant, and always thought they were so cute as I read them to my first born, still a baby. For whatever reason, they went back to the bookshelf and were brought back out when he was a toddler. At this point, it dawned on me that the book is parallel to parenting. You’re doing one activity with your child, only to have it blossom into something completely different, and at the end of it all, you’re left with a big mess and feeling super tired. Just as the poor child is at the end of the book–each one ends with them taking a nap, which is exactly what I felt like doing at the end of the day. Once I saw it this way, the books became even more humorous for me, and the new addition to the library, If You Give a Mouse a Brownie, does the same.

The If You Give series was the

The If You Give series were the first books my daughter was able to read on her own. Here, she digs into the new one.

The book, which is the first release to the series in 14 years, starts with the famous mouse, who gets a brownie, which leads to brownie a la mode, which leads to a spoon, and then some drumming . . . and all sorts of shenanigans. So I thought I’d do a little experiment, and make some brownies with my daughter to see where it led!

We decided to make brownies, then she washed her hands, then had to go to the bathroom, which is when she saw her new board game, so she asked if we could play, to which I responded we’re making brownies . .  . So we made them, but then she heard our neighbor skateboarding in the street, so she went and got him to help her lick the bowl. So yeah, it kinda was like If You Give a Mouse a Brownie. . .

Now it’s your turn . . . ready to get reading on this new release? Lucky for you, we’ve got one prize pack to give away which includes:

· BOTH If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Mouse a Brownie;
· And a $50 Visa gift card to put towards building your little library!

    If You Give A Moose A Muffin was always my favorite. 🙂

  20. Oh my goodness, this just shows how behind the times I am. I always loved “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” as a kid, and I didn’t realize there had been any followup books after that. Gotta go with the classic!
