There’s an ongoing joke between one of my very curious kids (read: she asks questions non-stop) and me that the answer to every difficult question is simple: Google it! Since on a whim, I can’t always explain why the sky is blue or the ocean makes waves, you can imagine my delight when I found out there is a plush (read: cuddly) toy robot that can respond with a legitimate answer!
In fact, the TROBO is an interactive robot that helps kids learn science, technology, engineering and mathematics (a.k.a. STEM)! Coupled with the app for an iPad or iPhone, kids can be a character in each educational story! To do a demo and create your own character modeled after your child, build yours here.
Kids (best for ages 2-7) can select the stories (such as how bees make honey!) they want to explore and enjoy seeing their image within the stories. TROBO, created by two dads, can read to children and answer interactive questions, too! That’s right – mom doesn’t need to respond with Google it!
TROBO’s can be purchased at a discounted rate directly from the TROBO kickstarter page! A $50 donation gets you on the wait list to receive a TROBO if the campaign goes through (reg price is $70)! (And of course you are not charged if it does not).
Other donation options are available, too. Learn more about TROBO and order yours here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/trobo/trobo-the-storytelling-robot
And, you’re welcome for helping you get some of those tougher questions answered!
