If there’s one thing I pride myself on, it’s my Disneyland expertise. Having visited “The Happiest Place on Earth” my entire life, I know tips and tricks that will get my family and I on more rides in 3 hours than some tourists will get on in 2 days. My husband (rightfully) thinks I’m a nut job, but has quickly learned to go with my crazed, fast paced flow.
So, when it comes to finding places to stay in Anaheim, I’m always willing to research new options.
Last weekend, my family and I got to enjoy a stay at the Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove, a great hotel option very near Disneyland and California Adventure.
In fact, the hotel also offers a shuttle to and from the parks (read: no need to pay for the amusement park parking), making our stay all the more convenient by dropping us off very near to the opening gates (read: allowing for more time to get me, er, um, the kids, on even more rides!).
After a fun filled day of taking the shuttle over to Disneyland and California Adventure, maximizing our Disneyland time the way only those of us who grew up in So Cal know how to do, we headed back on the shuttle to return to the hotel.
Greeted by the lovely lobby, the staff is beyond helpful and friendly. Since my family and I were exhausted, we opted to head back to our room and enjoy room service. The food was delicious and they even offered to substitute the cookie that comes with the kid’s meal with ice cream since one of my kids is gluten-intolerant. Very sweet.
Even better were our adjoining rooms! Though not everyone has a family as large as mine, this is a great option for the other big fams. For the more reasonable types (read: 2 kids or less), one of our rooms had a Queen bed and a bunk bed for the kids!
Worth noting, the hotel is also 1.29 miles away from the Anaheim Convention Center if you happen to be in town for an event held there. With Wi-Fi internet access, coffee maker, fridge and desks in the room, it’s great for business travel as well.
After a great night’s sleep (you saw the part where my husband and I had our own room, right?), we had some fun hanging in the room, ordering room service again and then were off to the pool!
Cabanas are first come first serve, but free… yes, FREE! We immediately took one over and plopped ourselves into the refreshing water. Just inside the doors next to the pool was “Blend”, a place to purchase my husband and me cappuccinos so we could keep up with our crew for a day of splashing in the sun. Though my more daring friends likely would have been sitting at the Trinitas Cellars Wine Bar, also conveniently located inside.
As our stay came to an end, we were sad to say good-bye to a great hotel option near Disneyland.
