If your household is anything like mine, LEGOs® are a staple. We have sets displayed on bookshelves, buckets and buckets of bricks, and Ninjago shows are a mainstay on the DVR. So you can imagine the excitement my kids had when seeing THE LEGO® MOVIE preview for the first time. Now, whenever the commercial comes on, they both stop what they’re doing and become glued to the television, reciting lines, yelling “AWESOME!” and making jokes about double decker couches. The countdown is on, and they can not wait for February 7 to roll around.

LEGO®, being the creative geniuses that they are, is making the movie for parents to enjoy as well. The movie stars adult favorites like Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman, amongst others.  The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world.   Emmet is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Target and LEGO® have partnered up  and have created THE LEGO MOVIE toys which feature 17 different building sets, based on the most exciting and memorable scenes from the film that enable your kiddos to bring THE LEGO MOVIE to life, helping Emmet and the Master Builders save the LEGO world from Lord Business.

So get ready for action (and laughs) when THE LEGO MOVIE hits theaters this February 7!
