Ahhhh… our Mother Earth. As we prepare to celebrate all that she does for us and recognize ways we can give back to her on Earth Day this April 20th, check out the Ranger Rick Jr. Appventures for kids that celebrate all things green!
From the National Wildlife Federation, Ranger Rick Jr. Appventures (for the iPad & ages 4-7), offers age-appropriate, ad-free content in a fun yet educational format through interactive animal games, videos, stories, puzzles, photos, jokes and more, including:
· Photo Safari – a game that asks children to take photos of all the lions in Lars’ pride. (The real challenge is that kids need to get up and move—with their iPads—to find them all!)
· Animal Piano – an activity that lets children make music and play songs, using the sounds made by lions, elephants, and baboons.
· Animal Builder – a drawing game that has children mix and match body parts to create both realistic and silly animals.
Be sure to let your nature lovers explore the world of Ranger Rick and his friends Ricky the raccoon and Lars the Lion in Ranger Rick Jr. Appventures in time for Earth Day!

We use reusable bags for lunches and cook as much from scratch as possible to avoid lots of packaging.
reuse plastic shopping bags as garbage bags
We are currently re-using all our moving boxes into a playhouse for my little one. When we are done with plastic containers, we clean them, decorate them, and eventually be hung in her playhouse. Toys, fake plant holders, etc.
We cloth diaper, have reuseable bags, mama cloth, cloth napkins, unpaper towels… Just to name a few! 🙂
My newest window and mirror washing discovery, is the Zap Cloth. The Zap Cloth is a revolutionary microfiber cloth that gives you streak-free results every time. All you have to do is get the Zap Cloth wet, wring it out, and then you can wipe down all the windows, mirrors, appliances, and more! It’s incredible to watch it work, especially on something as dirty as my bathroom hand mirror! And you don’t have to waste hundreds of paper towels.
I use reusable containers for my daughter’s school lunch all week.
Thanks so much for hosting an Appventures giveaway! For readers who didn’t win a download code, our apps are on sale for $1.99 all week in honor of Earth Day! We linked to your giveaway in a blog post about our apps: 5 Reasons to Download Ranger Rick Apps for Kids
Thanks again,
Gretchen Hannes (Asst. Editor, Ranger Rick Jr.)
