5 Great Catches: It’s All About the Food

I love trying new foods and getting new ideas for kids’ snacks and family meals. So you can imagine how much I love getting food sent to me for potential review on Breezy Mama. There’s nothing quite like walking up to the front door to find a cooler full of dry ice with something scrumptious (hopefully) waiting inside. Featured below are both kids’ snack ideas, as well as food for the family dinner, all of which are delicious examples of what I’ve received recently.

al fresco Tomato & Basil Chicken Meatballs

Oh, how we all loved these meatballs. Fully cooked, it was extremely easy to use them to prepare quick and yummy meals. I cut some up and put them on “English Muffin pizzas” for the kids, tossed some with olive oil, chopped tomatoes, basil and olive oil for the hubby and me, and even served them just they way they were as appetizers. The meatballs are made with lean, skinless chicken meat and contain no artificial ingredients, MSG, nitrates, preservatives, or nitrites. You can’t wrong with this babies. Dr. Sears Family Essentials Popumz

Created by the renowned Pediatrician, Dr. Sears, Popumz are a cross between a rice cake and a cookie. We tried the vanilla, caramel and chocolate flavors, all of which were light and crispy, with just enough sweetness (they contain less than 5 grams of sugar). They come in individual bags, so they’re perfect for throwing in the kid’s lunches. If you’re children are more savory snackers, there’s also ranch, BBQ and cheddar flavors. Made from 100% all natural whole grain, with Omega 3s, and packed with fiber and protein. To order Dr. Sears Family Essentials Popumz ($3.99 for 5 bags), click here.

hint Water

I usually don’t buy flavored water, but hint may make me change my ways. Plain water, with an essence of flavor, and no sweeteners or calories, the result is just plain delicious. I received a half dozen to try, and I loved reaching in the fridge to pull out the tasty treat. Each flavor was yummy, but if I had to pick one as a favorite, I would say it was watermelon. My mom loved the mango/grapefruit one so much, she went right out and purchased more for her monthly game night! Try it, you won’t be disappointed. Ella’s Kitchen

I picked up a few of these “smoothie” flavors from when we attended BlogHer in August–and boy, did they not disappoint. My kiddos gobbled them up so fast, that I went and got more right away. This time, I was daring and bought the “baby food blends” even though my children are 2 and 5 years old. They come in a multitude of flavors, including sweet potato and pumpkin, so I thought, “Hey, more veggies never hurts!” Again, they both slurped them up like it was their first meal in days. All are organic, and don’t contain sugar and salt while some flavors are gluten free as well. A win-win all the way around. Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Bars

I tried hiding these from the rest of the family, but somehow, the babysitter found them, gave to them to the kids, and they were gone in the blink of an eye. For me, who needs a sweet pick-me-up in the afternoon, they are perfect. Layered with chocolate and a sprinkling of peanuts on top, yum, yum they are delish!
