Movie Review: Bridesmaids

Finally a movie that truly believes that women have a sense of humor. This isn’t a sugar coated rom-com or an insulting chick flick, just a flat out hilarious movie that you can embarrassingly relate to in many of the moments… no matter how outrageous.

As if Kristen Wiig wasn’t enough of my comic hero, she has now forever cemented it with her talent. The rest of the cast is equally hilarious, but the lines the hubby and I have quoted over and over again and cracking ourselves up with came from either Wiig or the scene stealing Melissa McCarthy. That being said, I’d be remiss in not giving a shout out to Wendi McLendon in the mom of 3 boys role – HILARIOUS!

Grab your girlfriends or your man – mine loved it just as much as me. Be prepared to be completely grossed out in parts, but laughing all the way through.

Synopsis:

This spring, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, Superbad) and director Paul Feig (creator of Freaks and Geeks) invite you to experience Bridesmaids. Kristen Wiig leads the cast as Annie, a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony.

Annie’s life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian’s maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she’ll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you’ll go for someone you love.
