And now, for today’s reader questions. . .

What is the solution for pear shape girls who feel as if we can’t pull off skinny jeans?
The solution is to go for more of a “straight leg” jean rather than a true “skinny” as these tend to be tapered in at the ankle and will only make one look more pear shaped.  You still want the straight leg to be fitted on the leg, just not tight at your ankle.  Make sure the denim has a lot of stretch and is a dark wash. I always feel as if I am “over-accessorizing”.  Is there a rule that if you are wearing earrings, you can wear a bracelet but skip the necklace?
It’s a vague line.  What I like tell clients is to think in “two’s” and think of separating accessories (one item on upper half like your face/neck and one item on lower half like your wrist/hand).  They don’t have to be matching pieces, just coordinating in color or style.

For example, if you wear a simple necklace, choose a chunky bracelet to wear.   If you choose a large pair of statement earrings, choose a fun ring to wear. It’s an easy rule to follow and a good way to keep from “over-accessorizing”.

Are camoflauge pants in or out?
Camo pants with a wide leg and big cargo pockets are out.  Fitted, more streamlined (no huge pockets), ankle length camo pants are in.

Wear them with a feminine top (like a pretty solid blush color), accessories (like a long gold necklace), a fun wedge or metallic/nude sandal to balance out the masculinity of the camo. Shown: London Jean Skinny Cargo Ankle-Zip Pant, $59.50. Click here to purchase.
