Best of Breezy Mama 2010

Working out with Gabby Reece didn't make our top 10 but was a definite highlight for us!

Wow! What a year 2010 was for Breezy Mama thanks to YOU! Our subscribers more than tripled in the last year, People Magazine put us in their Moms & Babies blog roll, we appeared in Pregnancy Magazine (twice!), Parents Magazine and Woman’s World as well as had our content linked to by several outlets including USA Today and more! Again, we owe all of it to YOU! Thank you for joining us on this journey of motherhood (and fatherhood, you Papas) and for continuing to read Breezy Mama. Speaking of which… what was read the most? Check out our top 10 posts of 2010!

10. What Birth Order Says About Your Child and How to Parent Accordingly
LOVE this piece and am obsessed with how right on it is with my own kids… and friends… and relatives… And we’re always happy to have our expert on the piece Patti on the site! We love you Patti!

9. Lose the Granny Panties: It’s Time to Update to Sexy, Empowering Lingerie
Judging by the fact that this made the top 10 after several hundred posts throughout the year, we here at Breezy Mama weren’t the only ones that needed an upgrade. 🙂

8. Having My Twins
The story I waited 9 months to tell 🙂 I was typing so fast to get that up in between breast-feeding sessions, so it warms my heart that so many people read it.

7. Top 10 Children’s Books for 2010
This proves we all get a little burnt out on the same old, same old books -lol. I love doing this piece each year and getting new ideas for bedtime stories and am also always so curious to see what will make the list!

6. Road Test: Cloth Diapers
Hands down (in my opinion of course) Alex’s most hilarious piece ever! Honestly, I just couldn’t pull the trigger to do this piece myself as she mentions… I even wrote an intro back in December of 2009, but never got to the testing! Alex came through and with flying colors (and, well, maybe some flying poop, too)!

5. And My Twins Are…
Sniff… sniff… thank you for caring 🙂

4. 10 Things To Do Instead of Time Out
This piece kicked off a series of free webinars throughout the year that Breezy Mama hosted with Positive Parenting Solution’s Amy McCready, another favorite Breezy Mama Go-to expert. I continue to use the techniques… and read it again when I forget. Thank you Amy!

3. 9 By Design’s Cortney Novogratz on Raising Seven Kids
The show hadn’t aired yet, so I didn’t even know if I’d be able to use this interview (I do have several that I never put on the site… cause, um, I know you won’t care), but once 9 By Design started to great ratings, this piece took off from there. What makes me laugh is I was not pregnant yet (and wouldn’t be for another two months) nor was planning to be, but many of my questions go on and on about big families! Apparently, my intuition knew something I didn’t yet.

2. It’s a Boy for Always Sunny in Philadelphia Stars Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney
This interview cracks me up and is another personal highlight. First, it was one of the few Alex and I have ever done together, which was a lot of fun. Second, both Alex and I are big fans of the show, so it was exciting for us. Third, we were the first outlet that they announced the baby they were expecting was a boy! Very exciting and a big honor for us to break the news!

1. Rear-Facing or Forward-Facing–What To Do and When To Do It
By a landslide this piece far and away was the most read of 2010… and on Breezy Mama ever for that matter. We love, love, love our Dr. Conti and this updated knowledge blew many away! After my hubby and I read it, we actually updated our car seat, too. And that’s what I love most about Breezy Mama… how much I have learned along the way!

Thank you all again for a fabulous year and we look forward to lots more to come in 2011. Happy New Year!

Let's Get Social!

  1. Alex and Chelsea, congratulations on another fabulous year of breezymama! I love, love, love this site and look forward to receiving the posts each day in my inbox. I have to say that one of the best posts ever (and definitely the most entertaining of the year) was the art of waxing. It still makes me giggle just thinking about it. Thank you!

  2. Thank you Linnea! And YES! “The Art of Waxing” was one of my favorites, too! I was bummed it didn’t make the Top 10 and tried to figure out a way to include it, but then that opened up a can of worms of my other favorites, too -lol. So glad you brought it up:
