Delish Dish: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

A couple weeks ago I made a call-out to Breezy Mama readers that if they had a favorite Go-To recipe they’d like to share, by all means, send it on in. Cheryl answered with this recipe for pumpkin bread. She says, “This is the best Pumpkin bread recipe I know. I love everything pumpkin so I was really excited when my friend made it for me last year.  As soon as the weather started to turn and canned pumpkin was back on the shelf, I dug out this recipe and started baking. Everyone in my family looks forward to the loaf pans coming out of the oven!”

Makes two loaves.

Ingredients:

  • 3 C flour
  • 3C sugar
  • 2 t baking soda
  • ½ t baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t allspice
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 c oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 c water
  • 1 (16 oz) can pumpkin
  • 1 (12 oz) bag semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients, except pumpkin and chocolate chips. Blend well, fold in pumpkin and chocolate chips.

I made this for my Halloween party and everyone raved about it. Though with three cups of sugar and chocolate chips it’s a bit of a stretch to call this bread. 🙂 Especially since I made it in a bundt pan. It was really more of a cake.

  2. Yummy! Yummy! Going to bake some today!
