Delish Dish: Creamy Garlic Dressing

I have my mother-in-law to thank for this delicious dressing recipe. My husband and I are obsessed–we’ve been making it all the time and yesterday, as I was licking the mixing bowl clean (you think I’m joking, don’t you?) I thought I should share the love with the Breezy Mama readers. You can use it on any type of salad, but it’s garlicky, so I usually stick to a Caesar salad theme. The one I made last night had romaine lettuce, tomatoes, hard boiled egg, croutons and Parmesan cheese. A word of warning–a little goes a long way, so taste as you go, because if you overcoat the salad, it will be ruined. –Alex

Delish Dish: Greek Cabbage Salad

I recently posted my Grandmother’s chili recipe that I love to cook for occasions when you need to fill a lot of tummies and don’t want to spend much time in the kitchen. What’s always accompanying the chili? This salad. Originally the recipe from two old friends, Breezy Mama Jenny and her twin, Sarah, I always pull it out of my back pocket when I need some greens, quick. –Alex

Delish Dish: Ceasar Salad

ceasarsalad4My husband is a Caesar Salad connoisseur–that and a bowl of clam chowder are hands down two of his most favorite things. Point being–the man knows his Caesar Salad. So when Breezy Mama Jenelle brought us a Chicken Caesar Salad for dinner one night and Bowen couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was, I knew we had ourselves a winning recipe. What makes it stand apart from the rest is how lemony it is. Originally a Martha Stewart recipe, Jenelle adapted it by adding dill and some onion. Throw in some grilled chicken, and you have yourselves a Read More…

Delish Dish: Chicken Satay Noodle Salad

satayMy friend Kareen is South African and as a result, she talks in a beautiful way, with words such as “darling” and “lovely” being a part of her regular vocabulary. There’s nothing so glamorous as having someone telling you, “Darling, this dish you made is simply lovely” in their gorgeous sing-song voice. So when we got home from the hospital and Kareen offered to bring dinner over, I knew that it would be just as fantastic as her, and indeed, I was not let down. Simply amazing, and according to Kareen, super easy to make as well.
