Our Queen of the Caboodle Kelly — a.k.a. an actress who has spent countless hours in make-up chairs and shares the tips she’s learned — gives Breezy Mama the top tinted moisturizers. Plus! Her interview with the creator of Miracle Skin Transformer.
From Kelly:
Remember the days when all we needed to look great was a swipe of mascara and some lip gloss? I have conceded that at 36, I can no longer get away without wearing some kind of coverage on my skin. I still hate the feel of layers and layers of product (i.e. primer, moisturizer, sunscreen, foundation) caked on my face. Tinted moisturizers have become my new best friend! They offer protection from the sun’s harmful rays while offering a sheer layer of coverage. Perfect for a day at the park or a night out on the town! Below is the list of my personal favorites. But first, I had the unique pleasure of speaking with Sarah McNamara, founder and creator of one of the most phenomenal new products on the market called Miracle Skin Transformer. It is a moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation all rolled into one! Here is what Sarah had to say about her amazing new product and being a mother of two:

The day I realized I needed help. That's me on the right.
I recently went through a midlife skin crisis. It all started on April 26, 2010. The Saturday prior, my husband and I went to a wonderful wedding, filled with great friends and on Monday (April 26) the photos from the event started to circulate. As I looked at each one, I realized that my face was wrinkly, that my skin tone was uneven, and that my face was filled with redness. I started to panic–how long had I looked like this? Why didn’t I realize it before? The panic increased when Chelsea and I attended an event a week later and received complimentary mini-facials. The woman looked at me and let out a, “OOOOHHHHHH.” “What? What is it?!” I panicked. “Your skin is severely dehydrated. And, you don’t wear any sunscreen, do you?” I was in shock–how could my skin be parched? I hydrate and moisturize every morning and night. And sunscreen? I religiously apply it. I guess my lifetime in the sun was just showing up as I edge over from my mid-thirties to being closer to 40. Deep sigh.
So, it pays to have friends in high places–Kelly, one of Breezy Mama‘s beauty editors, is one of my best friends. I shot off a panicked email saying I needed her help, and fast. We needed to go makeup shopping–I had to cover my redness and fine lines and look like a dewy woman in her 20′s. Luckily, she took on the job and we met a few weeks later. The following is what I bought, and which stopped the midlife skin crisis on the spot. Read More…

Jill is back– and this month she comes to us with her report on B12 shots. Breezy Mama sent Jill on her mission after hearing about numerous women who were getting the shot and reporting results that included everything from weight loss to restored sex drives. Jill had to know–should she believe the hype?
Please note: The following is Jill’s opinion and should, in no way, be replacement for advice from your medical professional. Though she is that cool. . .
From Jill:
Wikipedia:
Vitamin B12, vitamin B12 or vitamin B-12, also called cobalamin, is a water soluble vitamin with a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and for the formation of blood. It is one of the eight B vitamins. It is normally involved in the metabolism of every cell of the body, especially affecting DNA synthesis and regulation, but also fatty acid synthesis and energy production. As the largest and most structurally complicated vitamin, it can be produced industrially only through bacterial fermentation-synthesis.
I’m not quite sure what any of that means. All I know is that the vitamin B12 is rumored to be a great way to get energy and perhaps lose weight. I can recall being on set many years ago watching actors Read More…

Breezy Mama’s Queen of the Caboodle Kelly shares her sizzling summer beauty tips!
From Kelly:
Could it be summertime already? I have to admit, although I enjoy summer, I like not having to worry about shaving my legs for a few months. And my hair has finally recovered from last year’s daily dose of chlorine from our pool. Not to mention I don’t have a tan line in sight which means I am as pasty white as my kids’ Elmer’s glue bottle. Summer can be a little daunting at first. Here are some items that should make baring it all again a little more “bare”-able:

This past April the Breezy Mama offices got a cry for help. Breezy Mama Tracy B. wrote in and said she needed advice on . . . “Summer clothes to stay out of the sun: I am 4th generation Californian (San Diego/Orange County) and I really don’t like getting sun on me (skin cancer runs in my family). My kids all play outdoor sports and we are at the pool/beach/lagoon every day during the summer. How can I be outside, be covered up (clothes and hat) and STILL look cute?” Well Tracy, Vanessa is here to help you, and all others who want to be sun smart, but yet still look irresistible. Have fun!

Jill never got crazy enough to try the tri-fold, though she did experiment with a sunlamp.
Jill Kloster, Breezy Mama‘s fearless beauty editor is back–this time, she’s not scared to get orange (and bronzed) in order to bring you the best advice on sunless tanning. Read on to see what Jill gets herself into this time. . .
From Jill:
I was 15 years old when my tanning obsessed friend lent me her sunlamp. After my parents went to bed that night, I MacGyvered the lamp to my bedside table and I purposely made sure that when I laid down on the floor underneath it, there was less than an inch between my face and the bulb. I must have laid there for at least 30 minutes. I had visions of walking into my high school the next day as a bronzed goddess. The Captain of the wrestling team would finally notice me and we would be together forever. What I didn’t know, was that a sunlamp should really be called a burn lamp because you do not get sun. You get burn. I remember feeling like my face had been shrink-wrapped, and that I was probably going to have to wear a ski mask for at least a week.
What is it about having a tan that makes us pull stunts like the burn lamp, or the baby oil-iodine homebrew? And what about the under the chin tri-fold foil contraption? Genius. Tanning seems to have a weird psychological effect on us. I personally feel healthy and more confident when I’m tanned. I actually even feel skinnier, which is ridiculous. My friends in the south have a saying: “tanned Read More…
Ahhhh, sunglasses–a mom’s best friend. They are a relatively inexpensive accessory that covers our tired eyes when we don’t have five minutes to put on our concealer. To find out what styles are a must-have for the upcoming summer, Breezy Mama walked into Hobie Sports–a surf shop that is oh-so-much-more. Carrying everything from TOMS Shoes to exquisite jewelry to the most adorable housewares, it’s a perfect place to stop in for a gift. Hobie Store Manager, Courtney Bucho, who gets to see all the latest styles, gave us her picks for summer.
