Making dinner–something that I used to love has somehow turned into a chore. When I think about it, I realize that it’s because of two words–instant gratification. When the kiddos are hungry, they are HUNGRY and don’t want to wait for more than ten minutes for dinner. Which, coincidentally, is the amount of time that it takes for chicken nuggets to heat in the toaster oven. So, I thought I’d delve a bit deeper and find some healthy, tasty and quick to fix meals that the whole family would love. My mission begins. . . –Alex

My first pregnancy was seven years ago and gear has come a long way, baby. I love finding out what THEY have thought of next. Now that I’m expecting for a fourth time, I’ve been researching the latest and greatest and here are some of Breezy Mama’s picks that I’m looking forward to using.
Lillebaby EuroTote
This carrier is the answer to my wimpy arms’s prayers. It actually buckles into the car seat and then can be taken out and used as a carrier vs. lugging the whole seat and without waking baby! In fact, it has Read More…

When you're dealing with this many bubbles, you want to make sure they're safe for your babies.
Yes–the headline is scary, and I meant it that way. Did you know that many of today’s baby bath products contain carcinogen’s? I recently wrote a post for the Colic Calm Journal which opened my eyes to the very scary fact. In the article, I write, “It turns out that many of the bath products you probably use (Johnson and Johnson’s for goodness sake!) have two known carcinogens, 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde, in them. Manufacturers are using these ingredients in products meant for babies, who are 100 times more sensitive than adults. Organic Consumers.org claims that the industry could easily take out these known carcinogens, if they just made the effort to do so.” So, I’ve made it a personal mission to take a closer look at the products I use on the kids, instead of just buying what I have a coupon for, I actually read the label. Here are five that passed the test, and more importantly (in the kid’s eyes anyway) make great bubbles. –Alex
Note–See bottom of post for more information on carcinogens in bath products. . .

So, cloth diapers aren’t really my thing. And they aren’t Chelsea’s either. In fact, when she came home from the ABC show ten months ago and told me she was going to do a story on cloth diapers, I thought she was just trying to make me laugh. But no, she was going to do it. And here we are, ten months later, and you dedicated readers probably know that you’ve never seen a story on cloth diapers. Chelsea came to her senses, realized she wasn’t a cloth diaper person, and asked me to do it. I laughed. A few weeks would go by and she’d ask me to do it, I would laugh. This continued for some time until I finally said, “Oh the heck with it” and grabbed her big diaper pail bag of samples. And, then, it has sat in my office (otherwise known as my bedroom) until a few weeks ago, when I reached into my daughter’s changing table and realized I was out of diapers. “No time like the present!” I thought to myself, and thus, the story came to fruition. –Alex

T minus 3 1/2 weeks until my daughter heads back to school. Trust me, I am in shock, too, considering I just barely figured out how to work the slip’n’slide and still need to purchase my Snoopy Sno-Cone Maker. Sigh. But the reality is, my baby is heading back to the wild and her backpack that lasted all through Kindergarten is so last year. Not really, but it has pretty much turned black and then she pointed out to me, “Mama, the bottom of my backpack is covered in oil.” Hmmm… When researching the potential upgrade, I fell in love with several options. Not that I get final say, but here are the options Breezy Mama will try and sway her with…

Here at Breezy Mama, we are often sent products to try out (and you only read about those we love). As much as I am generally all for being a guinea pig, I’m now pregnant with twins and need to be a little more cautious about what I put on or in my body. When Ascenta sent me a bottle of Omega-3 gel caps, I took them straight to my OB to get her thoughts first and she said, “Absolutely! We are recommending to all of our prenatal patience now.” But, listen, I know many of you are not only not preggers, but have closed that chapter, so I had to know if you graduates got any benefits, too, and the answer is: yes! Ascenta’s Hailey Thompson breaks down the benefits — from beauty, metabolism and more — for all of us women and RN Tania Tod who runs Trying to Conceive, also writes about the benefits for fertility as well as while pregnant. (Note: Always discuss with your own doctor first of course.)

When my firstborn came into the world, BPA-Free were relatively unheard of words. When my daughter went from being a baby to a toddler, one of the things that I had forgotten was how you constantly have to pack snacks. I had taken for granted that I could whoosh my four-year-old out of the house on a moment’s notice. My daughter on the other hand, constantly needs to fuel her little body, which means I have to remember the snacks before I step into the car. As I rushed through the kitchen on our way out the door, I realized that I was only packing carbs–crackers, Cheerios–that sort of thing–because they were easy and needed no refrigeration. My new mission–to find a carb-less, easy to pack snack that my toddler loved. The following won us both (and my 4 year old!) over. –Alex
