Michaele Salahi: One Wacky Washington Real Housewife

Listen, I’m not about to call the kettle black, but when I met The Real Housewives of Washington DC’s Michaele Salahi I was a tad stunned when in a matter of two minutes she hugged me twice and told me she loved me four times… she didn’t even who I was, just that I wanted to interview her… and I didn’t even get a chance to say it was for Breezy Mama. On one level, she’s my kinda gal, on another I was, um, taken aback. And speaking of crazy (ahem), first she and her husband Tareq Salahi were infamously accused of crashing the White House State Dinner last November (hello, potential breach of our national security) and then last week she got into it with Whoopi Goldberg after accusing The View host of hitting her (if you watch the clip, it’s clearly a tap). Nonetheless, standing with my buddy – before the Whoopi incident – Breezy Mama asked her about her visit to the White House, regrets about this new season of Real Housewives and more.

What was it like to be in the center of a media frenzy last year?

Michaele: It’s been crazy. And after last November, I’m learning. I’m learning that Read More…

Photo from Women's Health Magazine

A flat stomach–something that all of us mother’s want, especially after carrying a baby for nine months. But if you’re doing crunches to try and get rid of that baby pooch–you need to stop what you’re doing and pay attention because that’s not the way to go. Below, Kristin Menapace, fitness guru and owner of the San Clemente/Dana Point Baby Boot Camp gives us four moves to flatten that belly and give us the confidence to sport the bikini.

From Kristin:

Summer is here and working our core muscles is important not only for the beach but also overall fitness and wellness. Strong cores are also vital in helping prenatal women offset pregnancy related postural changes that can cause back discomfort and other discomforts. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Prenatal participants must get a physician’s approval for exercise.
  • Please empty your bladder before beginning.
  • If you feel discomfort or pain during an exercise, please modify or stop.
  • It is important to maintain a “Neutral” spine.

Summer Movies for the Whole Family

Let’s face it: Spending every day with the kids in the sun can get exhausting. In fact, everyone could use a little down time here and there. Enter: the movie theater! This summer has a whole lotta fun movies coming out for the whole fam. Check out some of your options (Pssst… Plus! Breezy Mama brings you the movies’ Web sites that have fun games and downloads for little ones).

Despicable Me
The fam and I were treated to an advance screening and we all loved it! Most of the time in movies aimed at kids, I nearly fall asleep as I can pretty much guess not only what will happen next, but also what the characters will say (yes, I have seen a LOT of kid’s movies). This Steve Carell led 3D movie definitely had some clichés but overall was unique which made it a lot of fun. My two year old sat still, the four year old said it was his favorite movie and the six year old asked if we could buy it (did we grow up like that?). Hands down a Read More…
