How to Start a Blog

Back in 2009 (has it really been that long?!) when Alex asked if I would be interested in starting a blog, I mentioned I had been thinking about a site for moms for a while and it turns out she was, too. At that point, I honestly thought it was a unique idea. Boy! Was I wrong. It turns out there were what likely was millions. Then, when we first emailed all of our friends, 75 people came. After that? 25 daily. Something needed to be done. Just how did we grow Breezy Mama to land it in People Magazine’s Moms & Babies blog roll? And how were we featured twice in Pregnancy Magazine, interviewed in Parents, appearing on the local news, etc. etc.? And how did we find advertisers for our blog? Better yet, how did we get started?

Let me tell you…in person! On Tuesday, January 29th at the Encinitas library at 6:30 pm, I will be teaching a “How to Blog (and Make Money, too!)” class for free! No need to sign up, just come to the library and learn:

– Best blogging platform
– Secrets to maintaining a blog
– Growing your audience
– Finding advertisers
– Spreading the word through the media
– and more!

I hope to see you there and answer everything you need to know so I can start reading your blog, too!

Is there any way you can post the class? I just found your blog and I would love to view this class. I’ve been thinking (and told I should) of starting a blog for a couple of years now. I have recovered my son from autism through diet and environmental changes and I’d love to share my success and knowledge with the world and support other autism mothers. Thanks!

  6. Hi Jennifer,
I will eventually sit down and write tips, but in the meantime check out the book ProBlogger.
