Though the Super Bowl is done, that hasn’t stopped me from thinking of next year or upcoming other games (Go Padres!)! In fact, hands down the best way to throw a party for a game is to have everyone contribute! I’ve spent hours in the kitchen year’s past only to never once get a chance to actually watch the game.

In fact, if you can get everyone on board to contribute an appetizer, you will be so full you will feel like you need to… get some sport playing in!

Another great idea that Alex does every year, she has a chili cook off, complete with anonymous voting. One year I went, I was in a Martha Stewart sorta mood — way out of character for me — and baked a pie from scratch, corn bread and my chili. To this day, I don’t think she believes me that I made any of it!

Back to my point — you gotta love how a little healthy competition got me to up my game (pun always intended), as well as everyone else which resulted in a delicious feast!

However, if sports aren’t your thing, but you aren’t one to miss out on socializing (like me during basketball season), then I highly suggest you go all out with appetizers, a meal and dessert just so you can entertain yourself…kidding… kind of.

No matter how you plan to enjoy a game, just remember to set aside a l’il plate for me.

Tell me what tips you have for hosting a successful party for friends and family for the Big Game and be entered to win a 42” LG flat Screen TV!
