Out here in good ‘ol Southern California, if a birthday party is done right, it involves Hullabaloo. In fact, after Alex first wrote about them, I booked every mom’s favorite guitar player Steve asap for my daughter’s first birthday party… then saw him at Alex’s daughter’s first… followed by a preschool fundraiser… and several more parties and events to come. We’re big fans and don’t even get me started on music mom-friendly expert Alison’s feelings (kidding Alison… kind of….). After seeing Despicable Me for the second time (you know how that goes), I once again found myself rocking out to the music when it occurred to me: I need this CD! With several of the songs by Pharrell, some Robin Thicke and the Bee Gees and more thrown in, I’m completely convinced this soundtrack was aimed specifically at us parents. My kids play “Here Comes the ABC’s” also by They Might Be Giants, so I was happy to hear of this pick by Alison. Honestly, you will forget that you have kids music on, but after your second coffee, you will start cracking up as you begin to pay attention (Oh, and don’t be surprised if you learn some science…).
