b&bIt’s the little things in life that get me excited. A great coupon, $1.00 hot chocolate at Starbucks, a buy one get one free sale–these sort of things which are economical and fun are what make me happy. The five products below are things that fit into these categories–they are an inexpensive alternative or they make the beauty routine that much faster–both of which also make me a happy lady. I guess I’m pretty easy to please–hopefully they will do the same for you. –Alex

Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Creme
Breezy Mama Karina, who is a new mom, gave me this wonder product for my birthday. She was finding out fast that being a mom meant you don’t have much time for primping, and this curl creme was her savior. Rub a dime sized amount through damp hair and then let air dry. The end result? Beautiful ringlet curls. Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Defining Creme, $29.95. Click here to buy from Amazon.

deoSpeed Stick Deodorant for Men
No, you didn’t read that wrong, deodorant for men for YOU. You get twice as much for half the price of women’s deo. Just make sure to get unscented–we don’t want you smelling like the guy next to you on the treadmill. Speed Stick Deodorant for Men, $2.99. Click here to buy from Walgreen’s.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer neutrogena
I was never a foundation girl. The first time I ever bought the stuff was when Kelly made me do it so I could use it on my wedding day. That was 9 1/2 years ago and the bottle is still full. Tinted moisturizer on the other hand? I am a convert. I’ve gone from using a tiny dot which I would mix with clear moisturizer to finally being brave enough to only use the tinted stuff. I like this Neutrogena one because it’s easy to use and contains retinol as well as a SPF of 20. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer, $11.29. Click here to buy from Amazon.

venus spa breezeGillette Venus Spa Breeze 2-in-1 Razor
This razor is absolute genius. It has soap attached around the razor blades so there’s no need for the extra step of lathering up with shaving cream or soap (and saves that added cost!). It seems as if I can only find the time to shave about once a week, this speeds up the process so much I can actually fit in another shave–no joke. I told you it was the little things in life that make me happy.) Note: If you have the Venus razor handle, all you need are the blades–all of the Venus cartridges are compatible. Gillette Venus Spa Breeze 2-in-1 Razor. Prices vary depending on if you want the handle and blades, or just the blades itself. Click here to see the selection on Amazon.

Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil baby oil
If you’re not willing to part with your razor, then Breezy Mama Adrian has this secret tip for you. Use baby oil as a substitute for shaving cream or soap. It’s easy to apply and it saves you the step of having to moisturize after you get out of the shower. How great is that? One word of warning–it makes your tub slippery! Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil, $3.58. Click here to purchase from Amazon.

Great tips! I just heard how they totally rip women off by marking up our deodorant. I’m not going to be a sucker anymore:0)

If that B&B curl makes my hair look like yours the other night, then I NEED it! Also, I just turned in 5 old Mac Cosmetics containers that were empty and got a free … yes FREE!!… lipstick. Thought you would appreciate that :)

I do appreciate it! And love the fact that after all these years Mac still runs that program. And yes Sara, no longer will you be taken in by deodorant marketing–don’t you feel empowered? :)

I love they have a women’s version of the deo. Confession time: I’ve used my husband’s, smelled like the guy, but hey it worked so well!

Oh no Unplanned Cooking–they DON’T have a women’s version–you have to buy the men’s–same stuff, but half the price at double the quantity.

Wanna hear something funny? My hubby prefers WOMEN’s deo over mens(I swear he’s not gay, or even metro)! So I guess we have been paying quadruple what we ought to!
