Go-To Outfit: Holiday
This month, Go-To Outfit Whiz Vanessa suggests an outfit that can take us through the holidays–from the turkey dinner, to the company party, to New Year’s Eve. Read on to see what exciting finds she has this time around . . .
From Vanessa:
It’s that time of year where we look forward to dressing up so let’s shine and sparkle. I’m hoping to get you (if you’re not already) into being a little more adventurous for your holiday outfit. Wear satin, jewelry, and some great high heels to deck the halls at all those fun parties you’ll be attending . . .
Charm Ruffle Dress
Give yourself an itty-bitty waist with this nice smocked waistband, feel ultra feminine and a little sexy with the ruffle neck line that adjusts to show how little or how much you feel like showing, and sway to those Christmas carols in the flattering cut of the double layered hemline. It comes in black for any of you play-it-safers. . . (Arden B, $68.00)
Now, let’s accessorize this beautiful dress. . . One of my favorite designers is Vera Wang and I can always find some beautiful pieces in her “budget friendly” Simply Vera line at Kohl’s (make sure to get them now–all of the following are currently on sale!):

Jet-Toned Crystal Drop Earrings and Ring
Talk about sparkly–you’ll be competing with the holiday lights with these two beautiful pieces. (Simply Vera for Kohl’s Earrings, $10.50 & Simply Vera for Kohl’s Ring, $15.00)
Vera Wang Mendoza Dress Heels
I love a really high heel at holiday time and these aren’t your typical satin 2” strappy sandals (don’t worry, those are fine, too, but these are fun and definitely more daring!). (Vera Wang for Kohl’s, $48.99)
Crocodile Pleated Box Clutch
A great clutch (especially a fun textured one) is a must to complete your holiday look–don’t ruin a great outfit by walking into a party carrying your everyday diaper bag on your shoulder. Let your hubby do that or better yet, leave the kids at home! (Apt. 9 for Kohl’s, $20.40)

I’m wondering if this is an ok outfit to wear to a holiday party in San Francisco? Vanessa, what could I add or change to ensure I don’t freeze my butt off even though the party is inside?
seriously, that dress is AWESOME!!!!!
Hi Robyn! Yes, wear it to the party in San Fran! I would suggest you add some nice thick opaque black tights(yes, you can wear tights with open toe shoes now)to keep your legs warm & toasty.
If you feel you might need something on top, then try a fun jacket that’s not long b/c you want to show off the dress, even if it’s just the bottom half. I’ve attached 2 examples from Arden B that would work great with this dress:
