Top Toddler Shoes
Breezy Mama brings you the five top toddler shoes, but first a word on my own child’s grunted opinion.
I’ve always been a Robeez kinda gal. Loved the pair with the cherries my first daughter wore and the sharks my son had. When it came time for baby number three to have some sort of foot cover-up, I had my butterfly Robeez ready to go. In the meantime, turns out my 14-month-old (at the time) had a mind of her own! After having been given a pair of Pedipeds, I showed her – you know how we moms do not knowing if they have any idea what we’re talking about but feeling like we’re somehow communicating – and her reaction was like mine when someone shows me a Mocha: tongue wagging, drooling, insistent that it be given to me NOW.
It went further though – she grabbed them and tried to put them on her feet! In fact, this baby whose only words are “birdie” and “boo” was grunting like nobody’s business, insisting that SHE WILL WEAR THESE SHOES!
Needless to say, I’m a true convert to Pedipeds. Robeez went back in the box (sigh) and my mini-shoe novice actually sleeps with her pink Pedipeds!
Pedipeds
With their flexible footing they’re a great way to take those beginning steps. While my daughter fell head over heels (get it?), I must admit I went pretty ga-ga over their upcoming spring gladiator line! “Founder and mom Angela discovered that doctors recommended barefoot walking or soft leather sole shoes, but the choices for infants and toddlers were limited. That is when Angela and her husband Brian decided to create the perfect shoe which was ‘the next best thing to bare feet.’” This brand doesn’t stop at toddlers either and sizes go up to 6+ years.

Robeez Sigh. Still love them. Remember, first time walkers need footwear with flexibility. I liked the thin bottoms as tiny toes learn to get a grip. “Robeez footwear flex and bend with every step. They promote good balance and unrestricted growth, while protecting little feet from the world.” Check out their adorable owls for girls or funky monsters for boys — click here! |
| See Kai Run My li’l foot fashionista had me wondering what other toddlers were into and I have been quizzing every mom in sight. The other brand that footed this list was See Kai Run. With flexible soles in mind, the mama who started the company said, “I wanted to design a line of shoes that was as happening as [my son] Kai – bold, hip, fun, with an urban sensibility.” They offer adorable styles to choose from (for both boys and girls) and are a fav of Breezy Mama Alex. Vans Speaking of my Breezy Mama partner in crime, Alex also adds, “Vans makes soft sole shoes. Kieran always wore them. I was just in a Vans store and they have the CUTEST little ones right now. You can also make custom ones starting at size 3.5.” To customize your pair, start here. |
Ecco
When another Breezy Mama’s daughter was pigeon toed, her doctor recommended Ecco. “Breaking ground on new design methodologies, we build on a solid foundation to evolve a lighter, more flexible shoe for every day and every need,” they say. To break your toddler’s in, click here.
So, remember — if the shoe fits, make sure it’s also good for the sole (may be my worst pun yet…).

I too am a Robeez girl. I was quite sad when my now 5-year old outgrew the last size they make! But I also love SKR and now Eleven – I can’t stop buying them!
Great giveaway! I’d love a pair for my baby boy
Awwwww…they are all soooo cute!!!!
Thats so cute your daughter sleeps in the shoes! My little one is obsessed with shoes too and she’s not even two yet. Hee hee.
Please enter me in your contest — my daughter’s feet are growing so fast and we could really use a new pair of shoes. Money is tight w/ her Birthday and Christmas both coming up so this would be a huge godsend.
Thank you!
P.S.
I am not sure if I need to tell you, but I am a subscriber — I love your blog!
I love all your suggestions- especially the pair of Ecco shoes. This will definitely be on the Christmas list for my little girl.
I really like the owl shoes for girls (and the autographed ones too!).
Come on shoes. Momma, I mean, baby needs a new pair of shoes!!
I REALLY love Pedipeds. They have the cutest styles for boys.
Thanks for the information. My daughter just started walking and I had no idea which would be good shoes. Lots of relatives have gotten her very stiff looking shoes but after reading this I am going to have to go out and get her pedipeds.
Love the see kai runs and they seem so comfy but none of mine have held up all that well. Or I should say they last a long time but because they are so soft and buttery they look horrible fast!
Yes, LOVE pedipeds (they have an adorable couture line too!)…and a very big fan of see kai run…just bought devon a pair of black boots…i couldn’t resist!!!
Squeakers are fun too, but pedipeds are the best!!
i love reading your posts! thanks for the information about shoes- my eight month old daughter is going to be needing a pair soon!
Recent convert for Morgan and Milo shoes – great toddler shoes with velcro and look cute. They hold up longer than See Kai’s.
Okay, so I REALLY hope I win this contest!!! Harlow is a shoe girl all the way. Has to have them on at all times and starts crying when I take them off. “Shoe”- her favorite word and she repeats it ALL day long. Good luck to Harlow :>)
When first looking for toddler shoes, I didn’t see a large selection of Pedipeds styles, but it looks like they’ve expanded their line. The ones pictured are adorable! We’ve enjoyed See Kai Run, as well as Stride Rite (not listed). Thanks!
Love the Pedipeds! Another great shoe is the L’Amour Fisherman shoe for boys and girls. My daugther wore them all summer…to the beach, in the pool (yes, in the pool so she could get in and out and not burn her feet on hot cement) and even to Easter brunch because they’re so darn cute. You can find them at a GREAT Web site for kids shoes http://www.gumshoe.com.
I am a mom-to-be and have no clue about picking the best shoes. I have seen great blog posts about Robeez and I’m an wearer of Vans myself (only shoes I can fit my fat preggo feet in these days, actually).
Great article! I’d heard of a few of these kids’ shoe brands before, but don’t know anyone who’s tried them out. Thanks for the review!
Love pedipeds and I love this website!!!!
My baby isn’t ready for shoes yet but she will be in about a couple of months. In the meantime I’ve been obsessed with all the adorable options out there. See Kai Run has some insanely cute shoes, and I have already chosen a couple of Pediped styles. I wish I knew which ones my baby would prefer, but till she can tell me she’ll be wearing the styles I like!
We LOVE See Kai Run in our house! Hopefully Santa will bring a pair for my 4 month old Son!
Love,Love,Love~ See Kai Run! Hope tp win a pair. Lower prices would be great too!
Are Pediped equal in quality with See Kai Run ?
i do love pedipeds! i feel that they are tough, last a long time and are well made!!
I LOVE Pedipeds! I have two daughters, now 3 and 9 mos., and my 3 year old wore hers so much, they’re trashed (or should I say…they were very loved!).
My 15 month-old LOVES pedipeds, but grows out of them fast! He loves his “sheesh”!
what a fun contest ! I have a handful of Robeez hand me downs but just started hearing about Pedipeds !
My little girl currently has Pedipeds and Stride Rite in her rotation and in past seasons we’ve loved See Kai Run (switched over to Pediped this time around). Looking forward to resuming the Robeez with our next one!
I didn’t know about the Robeez until I had my second daughter this past July. We’ve received two pairs so far and they are absolutely ADORABLE!!! I crack up whenever I put them on my little girl’s feet.
I have done some investigations on Pedipeds and honestly decided that we needed to get them from eBay as we can’t afford to buy them new. They are great shoes and I’m all for buying the best ones for my girls as I had to wear corrective shoes when I was a kid.
Could use a pair of pedipeds for Evan. For some reason the Robeez don’t stay on his feet the right way.
We LOVE Pedipeds!!!!
I love Robeez! They are so cute. I already have two pairs for my unborn baby.
Supercute! Thanks for all the great places for us to explore soft shoes for our first baby boy!
We have a collection of Robeez but haven’t tried pedipeds yet. They look soooo cute and confortable! Hope to win it from you
!!
Well,I’m just a shoe”Nanny”! I’ve loved the pedipeds for my 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. They are just adorable and really comfy.Time flies and it’s now Converse and Nike and Mary Janes…but if i won a pair it would be a gift to my daughter’s Nanny who just had a baby girl,Naomi! My son just outgrew his 12-18month sized robeez. He is 16 months. They were becoming a problem with all the rain we have had latley. Everytime he goes outside they get wet on the soles. I have been researching and wanting to get him a pair of pedipeds. I do wish they were a little cheaper!!!
