Sippy Cups: The Latest and Greatest

sugar booger 300x237 Sippy Cups: The Latest and GreatestAhhhh, the sippy cup–absolutely indispensable. Our best friend for spills, our enemy when we realize that no three-year-old should be using one and it’s time to break the habit. Breezy Mama checked out the latest styles while at the ABC Baby and Kids Show in Las Vegas, and the following were some of our faves. All are BPA Free, so you can rest assured that you can throw it in the dishwasher and your little one can drink out of it to their heart’s delight.

Sugar Booger
Sippy Cup Retro Robot
What I love about this cup is that the “sippy top” comes off, so when your child is ready to use a normal cup, you already have one—two cups in one. It also has the handles which makes it easier to hold (when learning) the normal cup. Sugar Booger has a slew of designs for little boys and girls (I had a hard time resisting putting the Owl cup up) that are all cuter than the next. Made out of melamine and holds 6 ounces, the company’s products are non-toxic and lead-free. $8.00 from Amazon.

boon 300x239 Sippy Cups: The Latest and GreatestBoon
Fluid Toddler Cup
Winning the Breezy Mama award for coolest looking, this sippy from Boon is not only BPA-free, but Phthalate and PVC free as well. The company touts that the design makes it easier for kids to drink, resulting in less tipping back of their heads. Though it looks small, the cup holds 9 ounces of liquid. Recommended for 9 plus months and available in three different colors. $5.95 from Amazon.

SiliskinGlm 203x300 Sippy Cups: The Latest and GreatestSilikids
Siliskin Glass
Want to skip the sippy all together and get your kid drinking from a cup ASAP? This is your answer—it has a silicone “glove” over the glass so your toddler can easily grip the cup and not have it slip out of their hands. The silicone also protects the glass from breaking in case it (Who’s kidding who? When it does. . .) gets dropped on the floor. Holds 6 ounces of fluid. $7.95 from Amazon.

Kleen Kanteenkleen kanteen 168x300 Sippy Cups: The Latest and Greatest
Kid Kanteen Classic
Now this is an interesting idea—Kleen Kanteen took their stainless steel sippy, and had the spout integrated with Avent’s patented sippy cup spout. So, if your child is used to the Avent, but you want to convert them to stainless steel, not a problem! The bottle is made from 18/8, food-grade stainless steel that’s totally free of BPA and other toxins. Because it’s food-grade, your liquid won’t get a funky taste (i.e. apple juice will taste like apple juice). Holds 12 ounces so it’s perfect for that long day when you’ll be out and about. $19.95 from Amazon (includes two toddler spouts).

Tilty Sippy Cup
We fell in love with the design of this cup. There’s a “shelf” built in so the liquid is “tipped,” making it easy for new cup users to drink out of. It has a snap-on lid without a valve which is better for the kiddo’s teeth (and is also what the American Dental Association recommends).  The cup will hold 8 ounces (but is marked 7 ounces for some reason) and is best for those babies at 9 months and older. Made out of Polypropylene, it’s also Dye and PVC free. $9.95 (for a Two-Pack) from Amazon.
