I would love to know, too! I hate the stinky stuff that smells that I am wearing sunscreen. I also hate the sunscreen that makes my chest shine, so any advice in this regard is greatly appreciated.
I used to love Bain de Soleil for baby but I think they stopped making it. It had NO smell whatsoever and wasn’t greasy. Plus, it didn’t leave you or your baby white as a ghost.
I have very fair skin and have continually had many moles removed (2 this week), and I need to find something that works, doesn’t smell, and isn’t greasy.
Please let me know ASAP!
Aveeno Baby – for faces (whole family) and Coppertone Kids Spray for rest of bodies.
* I would love a recommendation for a good everyday (aka work / home) moisturizer with sunblock….anyone got one???

I have such sensitive skin and have tried dozens of sunscreens for my face over the years. I finally found one that I LOVE and don’t mind wearing everyday; Epicuren X-treme cream spf 45-sunscreen! It doesn’t make me feel like I am putting on a “sunscreen” everyday. I have been using it for about 1 yr. And,..for my kids, I use Baby Blanket.
The smell attributed to most sunscreens is actually the odor of the UV absorbers. Use caution as some sunscreens use high levels of fragrance to mask this odor. Most fragrance contains allergens which should be avoided whenever possible. Also, for kids, look for a sunscreen based solely on Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide. Avoid those with Oxybenzone.
John–thanks so much for the insight! I am all over the board on sunscreen, which is why I posed the question. For kids, I’ve heard that California Baby is the best–but it’s just SO expensive. HIC (the surf brand) came out with a sunscreen last year, and it’s awesome. No greasy feel, stays on forever, easy to rub in, etc, etc. It can also be used on the whole family. For faces, surfers have always loved Shiseido sunscreen–it is almost impossible to take off, which makes it ideal for being in the water. However, it runs about $45.00. I recently found a good substitute–Vertra Sunscreen, which costs about $25.00. It can also be used on the whole family. Check it out here: http://www.vertra.com/
Alysha — I have to recommend Origins. I recently cheated on it with Kiehl’s and it has NOT been the same. Origins is really light, and since I’m so cheap, I’m anxiously awaiting my Kiehl’s to run out so I can go back to my true love Origins. BUT don’t get the cream –too thick — get the lotion, very light. Here’s the link to the product through our affiliate account — we only sign up to be affiliates for companies we love, so it’s not to be confused with me just plugging one of our affiliates -ha!
