Kat’s Fashion Picks: 5/12/09

FRINGE!!!! I love saying it and now I love wearing it. FRINGE!!!! This top is a great way to catch this style. Perfect because you can ditch the accessories, a simple pair of hoops will do. And perfect for the Breezy Mama on the go. I just do suggest getting a babysitter while wearing this…totally cute but a baby fashion hazard. Fringe top, $38.

Gypsy top – In ivory Chiffon with metallic gold print this is the perfect top to ring in summer. Pair it with shorts for an easy summer look, dark denim and wedges for a night out with your hot hubby, or perfect for poolside over a swimsuit when you want to look especially sexy. Little details like the fringe ties make it look tres luxe. We paired it here with the ever popular statement necklace. This one is gold dipped with white coral. Necklace, $130. Gypsy top, $36.

The denim vest. Pair it with last year’s dresses to update your look or heck, buy a new one like this pinstripe number. Denim vest also look great with tees and loose fitting tops. I suggest not wearing anything with long sleeves underneath…it’s taking the 70’s trend too literal and you could end up looking like one of the Brady Bunch kids. Keep it sleeveless or short sleeve to maximize this look. Julie denim vest, $25. Pinstripe Dress, $39.

Rocker tee- this one gets a feminine update with the Rolling Stones logo in flowers. Show everyone out there that this mom still rocks! This would also be sooooo cute with the vest above. Junk food Rolling Stones, $31. J Brand destroyed cutoffs, $158.

Maxi Dress. I’ve said it before and I will say it again…I love Veronica M (and I’m also good at rhyming too). This maxi dress is perfect for the new mom that is a little self conscious of her belly. The print is eye catching, the adjustable rouching will accommodate any chest size, and the gathering under the bust line makes it uber flattering. I gave one to a new mom and she felt soooo beautiful in it. Feel completely confident going on that beach vacation or BBQ in this one. Veronica M, $105.
