I find that my son will get stuck on one CD and to try and get him to listen to anything else it like World War Three. “Let’s try this” I say from the driver’s seat, my thumb changing the iPod. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO” yells the tyrant from the back seat, “I waaaaaant Baby Einstein!” (Or whatever CD he happens to be into that month.) So, one time, having the car to myself, I decided to listen to Elton John’s Greatest Hits and it was still playing as I picked him up from preschool. As the engine started, the music turned on and he immediately asked to change it. But me, having a moment of genius, said, “There’s a song called Bennie and the Jets, want to hear that?” And he, loving jets as he does, says yes. After that, I asked if he wanted to hear Rocket Man. He did. And now Elton John is on our revolving playlist. You should try it too.
